Based on the acclaimed play by Wendy Kesselman, this film tells the story of Daisy (Claire Danes), a shy teenager who conceals her Judaism from her classmates at a Manhattan private school. Daisy's closest friend is her grandmother, Nana (Jeanne Moreau). A Holocaust survivor, Nana tells Daisy of her youth spent in a concentration camp just as Daisy is experiencing anti-Semitism at her school.
