Sam Troughton (born 21 March 1977[1]) is a British actor. He is the son of David Troughton and the grandson of Doctor Who actor Patrick Troughton. His younger brother is Warwickshire cricketer Jim Troughton. Troughton studied drama at the University of Hull, graduating in 1998. Troughton is an acclaimed Shakespearean actor who was nominated for an award while with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
