James Lance Bass (born May 4, 1979), best known as Lance Bass, is an American pop singer, actor, film and television producer, and author. He grew up in Mississippi and rose to fame as the bass singer for the American pop boy band 'N Sync. 'N Sync's success led Bass to work in film and television. Lance Bass Fast Facts: Was performing with Attache, his high school's award-winning show choir, when he was invited to join 'N Sync as its fifth and last member in 1995. In 2000, he appeared on an episode of 7th Heaven. Made film debut in On the Line (2001) with fellow 'N Sync bandmate Joey Fatone. In 2002, he attended cosmonaut school in hopes of getting a ride on an international Russian space mission. He lost his spot when he couldn't raise the $20 million fee.
