Debra Messing bio at NetflixStunning beauty
Debra Messing was born Aug. 15, 1968, in Brooklyn, N.Y. She built up her acting résumé in the theater before scoring a four-episode appearance on "NYPD Blue" and shortly thereafter starred in her own series, "Ned and Stacey," playing a liberal journalist married to a conservative ad man (Thomas Haden Church).
But Messing will likely always be best known for her breakthrough role as interior designer Grace Adler on the hit sitcom "Will & Grace." The show brought her near-instant stardom and a string of Golden Globe and Emmy nominations; in 2003, she took home the Emmy for Best Actress in a Comedy. In 2007, she earned another Emmy nod for TV's The Starter Wife.
Messing's big-screen credits include A Walk in the Clouds (1995), Hollywood Ending (2002), The Mothman Prophecies (2002), Along Came Polly (2004) and her first leading role in 2005's The Wedding Date (opposite Dermot Mulroney).
